Internet Tax Up For Debate Again
Posted by Janet Attard
The moratorium on Internet taxes is about to expire again on November 1. Legislators are now debating whether to extend the morartorium or repeal it (allowing a variety of Internet commerce to be taxed.)
What they decide - ie, if they decide to end the moratorium on Internet taxes - could put such a burden on small businesses that they wouldn't be able to stay in business. Among the potential problems: having to deal with taxing jurisdictions of thousands of local entities. Read more about the issue in Rob Preston's editorial in Information Week. Then, contact your legislators to let them know what your view is on the Internet tax issue.

I am from Canada so I am probably not affected. The only thing I really have to gripe about is the fact that I now make good money working from home, but am making U.S. currency. The CD has skyrocketed and is now past par with the US dollar giving me less. OH well…
