Recession-Proof Businesses
Posted by Janet Attard
Are you thinking about starting a business, but worry that the recession could cause your fledgling business to fail?
Although that a very legitimate concern, you should know that even in a slumping economy consumers and businesses still make some purchases. In fact, some of today's best known companies - companies like HP, FedEx and Wikipedia - launched during recessionary times. So how do you know whether this is a good time to launch the business you want to start? Jamie Herzlich talks about that in her column in Newsday this week.

I agree, people who are on the fence about opening a business during tough economic times should stop second guessing themselves and go for it. I was laid off recently and decided to start my business due to the needs of the economy. With a lot of companies cutting back on security and first hand knowledge of being laid off, I still recognized a need for security and decided to capitalize on it. So anyone on the fence, go for it!!!
