Previous: Turn Old Problems Into New Products by Janet Attard The judicious use of color in printed reports, proposals and presentation overheads can make a big impression on your customers. Whether you use color in headlines, for graphs, or artwork on the page, it will not only help get your message across, it will also make your company appear more professional. In fact, it could mean the difference between winning and not winning a contract. When you are just starting out, an inexpensive home color printer will probably serve your needs. But if you want high-quality color, fast printing time and the ability to print anything from glossy product sheets to postcards, business cards and letterhead, and will need to print hundreds of sheets at a time, a business-grade color inkjet printer or all-in-one printer, scanner and fax is well worth considering. HP produces inkjet color printers in the $399 to $499 price range that are excellent for this type of printing. If you don't expect to use much other than spot color, a low-cost color laser might also meet your needs. If the initial cost of a printer is a factor consider buying a refurbished printer. (We picked up a refurbished color laser printer for our office for $149.) Just be sure to test it out pretty thoroughly within the time frame you're allowed for returns.
