Make Pay-Per-Click Ads Pay Off
by Janet Attard
Pay-per-click ads can drive highly targeted prospects to your website. But no matter how targeted the prospects are, they won't buy from you if they can't quickly find exactly what they want to buy.
If you advertise a blue widget with handgrips, the prospect expects to land on (click through to) a page that prominently displays blue widgets with handgrips. If they land on your home page or a catalog page full of 50 kinds of widgets, they may never see the specific product they want. And, if they don't see it, they'll click the back button, return to the search engine and buy it from one of your competitors.
Save the day (and improve your ROI) by pointing ads to specific product pages. Be sure the product name and a photo are the most distinct things on the page, and make the link or button to buy the product easy to find.
