Your website doesn't have to be ugly to drive away customers. Your site can be very professionally designed and still not convince visitors to call or make a purchase.
Why?
One common mistake is that the website doesn't tell visitors enough about what your product or service can do for them. The name of your business and a picture of your facility, a history of the company, photos of your staff, and an impressive sounding mission statement, isn't likely to get anyone to contact you unless they are already aware of the services your provide and the benefits they'll derive from what you sell.
Another common mistake: not telling visitors what action they should take. A good benefits headline on your page and some good sales copy is going to fall short of your goals if you don't tell visitors, "Fill out the form below," or have some kind of prominent "Buy now" button on the page.
