Get a Logo and Use It Everywhere

by Janet Attard

A well-designed logo makes your business look more established and professional. It establishes your business as a brand and helps your customers remember the business and what you do. Your logo should go on your business cards, website, store front (if you have a retail location), brochures, letterhead, envelopes, invoices and advertising. Put it in industry directories, use it on shirts, in your trade show booth, and on novelty giveaways. The more places your logo appears, the more people there will be who will remember it and think of you when they need your products or services.

Don’t settle for clip art logos available on graphics disks or at a quick print shop. Your logo should represent you and only you. And, unless your business is graphic design, don’t try to design the logo yourself. Your logo should be professionally designed so it can be used in various sizes on various media. If you try to design it yourself, you’re likely to wind up with a design that won’t resize well and/or can’t easily be reproduced in print.

Having a logo custom-designed for you doesn’t have to cost an arm and a leg, either. You can get a logo designed for as little as $300 (less, when there’s a sale running) at LogoWorks, a logo design company owned by HP. The process is quick and easy, and you get the logo delivered to you in a variety of graphic formats for different uses.
