Previous: Fiscal Year Selling Secret Do you think Twitter is a purely social networking media – with little use for small businesses? If so, you'd better think again. Businesses (both small and big businesses) have found ways to use the micro blogging service to gain visibility and boost sales. In fact, there are so many business users that Twitter has added a new link on its bottom menu that leads to a guide for using Twitter in business. The guide, called Twitter 101 for Business, includes a brief overview of how to use Twitter in general, and tips on how businesses can use Twitter to communicate with customers, get feedback, offer coupon codes, announce new products and point to blog posts or other content on a website. Twitter 101 for Business also includes a getting started section with more information for newbies, a best practices guide for businesses, and tips for monitoring results from Twitter. Case studies of how Dell, Jet Blue, Teusner Wines, Current Media, TastiDelight and other businesses have successfully used Twitter are included in the 101 guide, too. There are lots of good ideas plus a list of other resources in Twitter 101 for Business, so it's worth a scan even for people who are already using Twitter regularly. Thanks for the link, we are looking for ways to make our twitter marketing more than just that - it seems that most twitter business users pretty much just spam their followers, some good direction is useful to engage but not put off.
