USERRA Poster Requirements
Important facts for employers
The USERRA (Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act)
protects the job rights individuals who leave jobs to join the US military. Under the USERRA regulations that were signed into law in late 2004, all
employers must post a notice in the workplace informing employees of their
rights under USERRA, which is the acronym for the Uniformed Services Employment
and Reemployment Rights Act.
The USERRA workplace poster was made available to the public by the
US Department of Labor on March 10, 2005.
Businesses that purchased labor law posters from Business Know-How
between January
1, 2005 and February 28, 2005, will automatically be shipped a supplement poster containing the new USERRA posting.
Labor law posters purchased from Business Know-How since February 28 have
included the USERRA notice either as a supplement to the poster or on the poster
itself.
Businesses that purchased labor law posters in 2004 or earlier should be sure
their labor law posters are up-to-date except for the USERRA notice. If they
are, the USERRA poster can be downloaded from http://www.dol.gov/vets/.
If you aren't sure whether or not your posters are up-to-date, This labor
law poster update list shows the most recent changes to the posters sold by
Business Know-How.
