NATIONAL INTERNET SALES TAX BILL
If you had thought the three year moratorium on internet taxes imposed by
last year's Internet Tax Freedom Act would postpone attempts to tax the
Internet, you thought wrong. Last week, Senator Fritz Hollings (D-South
Carolina) introduced a bill into the Senate that would impose a 5%
national sales tax on all Internet and mail order sales. Check the
Business Know-How home page for more information. (http://www.businessknowhow.com)
ARE YOU CHASING YOUR OWN CUSTOMERS AWAY?
You could be if you are conveying anything less than an upbeat, positive
attitude about your business to your customers and prospects. Find out how
your own attitude towards the success of your business could be driving
your customers away. Look for What Our Attitudes Communicate To Customers
in the marketing section of Business Know-How(sm) (http://www.businessknowhow.com/marketing/)
PRINTING SOLUTION FOR SMALL NETWORKS
If you've got your computers networked and you're tired of having to wait
for your printer to stop printing before getting back control of whichever
computer it's hooked up to, there's a simple solution. It's the IntelAE
InBusiness Print Station. Read about it in our tips and hints section at http://www.businessknowhow.com/bkhtips.htm.
BUSINESS KNOW-HOW BOOK TO BE PUBLISHED IN SEPTEMBER
If you're looking for good ideas to grow your business and operate it more
profitably, watch for my new book this fall. It's called BUSINESS
KNOW-HOW: An Operational Guide for Home-Based and Micro-Sized Businesses
with Limited Budgets. You'll be able to buy it online at BusinessKnowHow.com
or in your favorite bookstore. It contains hundreds of tips, hints and
suggestions for building your business. For a description of the book,
look here: http://www.businessknowhow.com/about/book2.htm.
FIND SUPPLIERS AND SUBCONTRACTORS
Do you need to buy business products or services? Or, perhaps find a
subcontractor to take on part of your workload? Whether you are looking
for service provider, a motivational speaker, an alternate dispute
resolution service, a web developer or PC Signal software to perform
vibration analyses on bearings, gears and rotors, there's a small business
out there to help you. One way to find the help you need: search our
National Small Business Network Resource Directory at http://www.businessknowhow.net.
While you're there, be sure to enter a directory listing for your own
business so other businesses can find you. And send a note to your
business friends to tell them to enter a listing, too. Listings are free
and it's a good way for small businesses to find one another for buying,
selling, and subcontracting. (No ads or multiple submissions please. Only
one, directory-style listing per company is allowed.).
Note: If you are getting this mailing, you have signed up for the
Business Know-How newsletter at some time in the past. If you would like
to be removed from the list, please got to http://www.businessknowhow.com/subscribe.htm
Type in your email address in the space indicated, and then use the
pull-down menu immediately below that space and choose the Unsubscribe
option.
