CHANGE AND GROWTH
As a few of you on this mailing list know, Business Know-How has been a popular area on the proprietary America Online service since 1990. (The "proprietary" service is the part you can only reach when you subscribe to the AOL service.) In fact, some of our topic areas got so popular that we spun them off as separate forums, that were linked into AOL's Professional Forums in the Careers & Work channel.
Business Know-How will be leaving the proprietary AOL service as of June 30, and as a result we are going to be greatly expanding our web site, bringing you most of the same "forums" we had developed there, and also adding new content areas and services. Some of these new areas will be free, and others will be fee-based. All will be designed to help you do business more profitably, more knowledgeably and more efficiently.
EXPANDED WEB MESSAGE BOARDS
One of the first things you'll notice is that we are expanding our web message boards. (Click on the Message Board link at
http://www.businessknowhow.com) Our focus is
- and will be - down-to-earth, factual information and discussions both for beginners and for existing businesses. We have a "Getting Started" section for the startup questions, and also have industry -specific areas where we invite those of you who have established businesses to discuss industry issues, share ideas, and just get to know one another. Some of the areas we are just getting set up (and would love your participation in) are Office Support & Secretarial Services, Medical Transcription, Medical Billing, Gift Baskets and Promotional Products. There will be others, as well. If you have an industry area you'd like to suggest/and or volunteer in, please let us know.
NEW, AFFILIATED WEB SITES
As we push out the virtual walls for the expansion, we will also be setting up some "divisions" of Business Know-How in their own shiny new offices and addresses. The first of these will be the MLM and Direct Sales area, which is just now under construction at
http://www.MLMKnowhow.com. Splitting off these special interest areas as separate web sites will let us better focus on the needs of special communities.
ADVERTISING AND LICENSING OPPORTUNITIES
We will be adding industry-specific "content" and advertising as well, in the near future, too. If you are a vendor who would like to advertise in resource listings, or advertise specific products in targeted content areas please send email to

LIVE CHATS
We have recently set up a web-based chat room. We have two chats now that meet regularly --- one for the Promotional Products Industry at 10 PM on Tuesday nights, and one on Marketing Medical Billing businesses, which meets at 10 PM on Wednesday nights. (Times are for the Eastern time zone. Adjust appropriately for where you live.)
