Snowed in

Thanks to the snow storm that hit the East Coast this weekend, it looks like Santa will have plenty of snow for his sleigh ride this year. Business Know-How is in Suffolk County, Long Island, NY, and at my home, which is just a couple of miles from our office, we had between 18 inches and 24 inches of snow. We had one drift in the backyard that was probably 3 1/2 feet high. For our readers who are in areas that don't see much snow, here's the view from my driveway today....

Regrettably, real life is about to imitate art - in this case a good horror movie. You know, the one in which the homicidal relatives that the family has kept hidden and locked up in the basement are about to escape. For decades, our economy has prospered by ignoring common sense fundamentals just like Dorothy was told to ignore the “man behind the curtain.” But we can't ignore what's behind the curtain or down in the basement anymore.
