Homeward-bound Savings

Travel tip to save you money

Will you need a ride home from the airport? If you live far from the airport, don't plan on hopping in the first cab you can grab at the airport. You may find that the cab drivers will charge you double the fee because they'll have to return to the airport without a passenger after they drop you off at your home.

To save money, call several airport transportation companies before you leave on your trip and make a reservation for the ride home with the company that has the best rates. (You'll find airport transportation companies listed right after airlines in the yellow pages of your phone book.) Be sure to carry their phone number with you in case you have to change your travel plans or are delayed on the way home.
